Cash was allegedly stolen from a Shell petrol station in Eltham by two men who reportedly fled the scene before police arrived.

Officers were called to the alleged burglary at the petrol station in Footscray Road at around 3.15am on Sunday.

Police say they found a quantity of cash had been stolen by two men who left the scene before officers got there.

The petrol station was closed at the time.

Police enquiries are ongoing and there have been no arrests.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1039/06Mar.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 03:15hrs on Sunday, 6 March to reports of a burglary at a petrol station in Footscray Road, Eltham.

"Officers attended and found a quantity of cash had been stolen by two men who had left the scene before police arrived.

"The premises was closed at the time of the incident.

"Enquiries are ongoing.

"There have been no arrests.

"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1039/06Mar."
