On the 3rd of March, schools across England celebrated World Book Day. It is a day where people can explore their favourite character from a book they have enjoyed reading and also explore the childishness hidden!
At Reach Academy Feltham, the library team has gone above and beyond this year to organise fun events for the students. One of which is to explore a genre of book that you have always wanted to read. The book of the genre you chose comes wrapped and you borrow the book and read it. If you like the new genre, the students were welcome to borrow more books from the library and read away!
Many of the students also dressed up and each year group had followed a theme or a book. For example, Year 11s were to dress up as a character from 'Lord of the Flies' by William Golding. Year 12s had to dress up as a favourite character from any dystopian novel and the costumes ranged from Alex from 'A Clockwork Orange' to Offred from 'The Handmaid's Tale' to Art3mis from 'Ready Player One'.
Overall, the day was very exciting and fun for primary, secondary and sixth form students of Reach!
