It's World Book Day today - and kids are dressing up as their favourite characters from storybooks across the globe.

Looks like our readers are as creative as Roald Dahl himself - judging by the time and effort taken into these costumes.

We asked News Shopper readers to send us in pictures of what their children are going to school dressed as today.

There was some fantastic responses, from the beloved Matilda to the adventurous Bear Grylls.

There were even some appearances from wild animals - including a tiger who enjoys afternoon tea a little too much.

We've rounded up the top 10 costumes that must have taken hours to make - or at least hours to think of.
