A man who allegedly smashed a car window during a road rage incident in Dartford is being forced to pay for the repairs.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said on Tuesday that the individual was arrested by an officer who was queuing in traffic at the time and saw the incident unfold.

The suspect was arrested by an officer who was queueing in traffic between the M25 and A282 in Dartford on Saturday and saw the incident unfold.

A man who was travelling as a passenger is alleged to have left the car he was sitting in while traffic was stationary and smashed the windows of the vehicle behind.

The officer arrested the suspect, who was a man in his fifties from Swanley.

The man agreed to pay for the damage and received a caution.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “A man who smashed the window of a vehicle in a road rage incident in Dartford will pay for repairs.

“He was arrested by an officer who was queuing in stationary traffic and witnessed the incident.

“The victim of a road rage incident in Dartford which resulted in his vehicle window being smashed is to be reimbursed for the damage by the offender.

“The incident happened at around midday on Saturday 26 February 2022 between the M25 and the A282 in Dartford.

“It is reported that a man, who was travelling as a passenger, got out of his car in stationary traffic and smashed the window of the vehicle behind.

“The incident was witnessed by a police officer who was also in the stationary traffic. The officer arrested the suspect, a man in his fifties from Swanley.

“The man agreed to pay for the damaged he caused and has received a caution.”
