A man in his 30s has been arrested after an increase in burglary reports across Thamesmead and Belvedere.
On February 24, Thamesmead and Belvedere officers arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of burglary.
The suspect is said to be at a south London police station where the investigation continues.
Thamesmead and Belvedere officers say they worked “proactively” alongside the burglary investigation team.
This comes as police are carrying out reassurance visits after an increase in burglaries taking place.
Belvedere police said: “Officers from Thamesmead and Belvedere SNT have today arrested a male in his 30s for burglary.
“In recent weeks there has been a noticeable increase in burglaries and part of the local policing team’s duties is to carry out reassurance visits and give crime prevention talks to victims.
“However, it does not end there for officers at Thamesmead and Belvedere SNT, we have proactively worked in partnership with the Burglary investigation team, and we have today tracked down a suspect and arrested him.
“This is not only a great example of good partnership work between different strands, but it also demonstrates the great proactive capabilities of SNT.
“The suspect remains at a south London police station where the investigation continues.”
