A man from Beckenham has been fined more than £800 in court for dropping a cigarette in the street.

Tin Maung was found guilty of depositing the cigarette and leaving it in Sandy Hill Road in Woolwich Town Centre on July 16, 2021.

Section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 applies in this area.

The verdict was proved in his absence at Bexley Magistrates' Court on February 14, 2022.

Muang, of Bromley Road in Beckenham Hill, was ordered to pay £834 for the offence.

This includes a £440 fine, £44 to fund victim services and costs of £350.

This must be paid by March 14.
