A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man charged with having sex at a church in south east London.

Iulian Vaulta failed to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court in relation to a charge of outraging public decency on October 6, 2021.

The 30-year-old is charged with committing an act outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner, namely having sexual intercourse.

The incident happened at St Nicholas Church in St Nicholas Road on April 8, 2021.

Police enquiries have been undertaken to locate Valuta – and it is unclear whether or not he has left the country.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “An arrest warrant was issued for Iulian Vaulta – 30 (01.01.92) following his failure to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court in relation to a charge of outraging public decency on 6 October 2021.

“This relates to an offence that took place in St Nicholas Road, SE18 on 8 April 2021.

“Enquiries have been undertaken to locate Valuta, including to confirm whether he has left the country.”

When asked about the case, the Home Office said it makes no apology for “removing foreign national offenders who abuse hospitality by committing crimes”.

The full statement from a Home Office spokesperson said: “We make no apology for removing foreign national offenders who abuse our hospitality by committing crimes, which is why since January 2019 we have removed 9,286 of them.

“The New Plan for Immigration will fix this broken immigration system and stop the abuse we are seeing by expediting the removal of those who have no right to be here.”
