A "do not travel" warning has been issued to commuters this morning by Southeastern rail as Storm Franklin sweeps in across south London.

Southeastern has introduced a temporary reduced timetable as disruption is expected to train services throughout today (February 21).

This comes after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning across the south of England.

A 50mph speed restriction will also be in place for trains until at least 4pm today due to the increased risk of fallen trees and debris on the tracks.

The railway advises commuters to check their journey before and after if they intend to travel.

Passengers who have already bought a ticket for travel between February 18 and Monday, February 21 and have not been able to travel, can use it on February 22 at no extra cost.

National Rail has also warned anyone making essential journeys to expect major disruption on routes.
