TV dancing star and international champion Johannes Radebe will be presenting his first UK Tour, Johannes Radebe: Freedom.

The show be playing at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on Wednesday, March 30 2022.

Johannes Radebe: Freedom, is a celebration of music and dance, from African fusion to fiery Latin, classic dance arrangements and party anthems, with a company of exciting dancers.

Johannes will take the audience on his personal journey, from growing up in South Africa, to travelling the world, winning titles and starring in Strictly Come Dancing.

Born in Zamdela Sasolburg, South Africa, Johannes Radebe started dancing when he was seven years old.

Johannes is “fascinated” by the discipline and glamour of ballroom and Latin dance, as he says he has “always” aspired to be a performer.

He said: “I have danced in groups, on ships, in bars and on the street.

“But since a young age I have always aspired to perform in theatre - that’s where my roots are.

“The desire to have my own show; to tell my own story through dance, is wonderful.

“It’s a story about where I come from.

“It’s going to be beautiful and inspirational and will tell people that you can dare to dream big; that the world is more accepting now."

Johannes toured the world in the international dance show Burn The Floor before being headhunted by Strictly Come Dancing.

In his second series of Strictly, he was partnered with Catherine Tyldesley and danced the first same-sex routine with fellow Strictly star Graziano Di Prima.

In 2020, he danced with Caroline Quentin and reached week seven in a shorter BAFTA-nominated season.

Johannes says Freedom will be full of “love and passion,” as he created the show using his “mind, body and soul”.

He added: “I wanted to incorporate everything I know and everything I am, using my world to showcase some of those stories of South Africa.

“There they have their own way of dancing, but there are also party anthems.

“It’s a show for everyone to be a part of if they want to - I want people who are passionate to come and enjoy it.

“It’s an extravaganza that I have created using my mind, body and soul.

“I want everyone up on their feet and in the aisles.

“It’s the freedom to do what you want and to be who you want in the world.

Johannes says it is “beyond his dreams” to have his own show, and he’s feeling ready for the upcoming tour.

He explained: “I’m ready for it.

“I have a great team behind me, and it excites me so much that these theatres are willing to have me.

“It was only a dream to have my own show, so this is beyond my dreams.”

The UK tour for Johannes Radebe: Freedom will be kicking off on March 16 and running through to May 1.
