Nature and nurture both have an impact on someone's behaviour or who they are as a person.

Nature determines our behaviour through our DNA and psychological features. Genes have a large influence on who you are as a person in terms of race, abilities, gender, and so on. A person would not be able to identify as a unique human being or be different and special from others if they did not have DNA.

Many of your qualities and personality are determined by genes passed down from your mother and father, but that doesn't mean your upbringing doesn't have an impact on who you are. For example, if a baby is adopted, he or she inherits the DNA of both parents but grows up to be a completely different person than their parents because of the environment in which they were raised. This is the nurture side of the argument.

Nurture refers to our surroundings and life events that determine who we are. Serial killers/murderers are an example of how nurture influences a person's behaviour. Many of them were abused as children or had distant/absent parents, which led them to become serial killers because they lacked affection and had no one to provide for them from an early age.

Therefore, both nature and nurture influence who we are as individuals, both genetically and socially.
