An Erith man was fined £826 after he was caught riding an e-scooter without insurance.

Julian Phipps, 40, of Guild Road, was stopped by police on Queens Street shortly before 5pm on July 5, 2021.

He was found to be riding a Mi scooter without insurance, in breach of the Road Traffic Act.

Bromley Magistrates' Court found him guilty on February 2, 2022.

He was fined an initial £660 for the offences, plus a victim’s surcharge of £66 and costs of £100, while six points were placed on his driving licence.

The court gave him until March 2 to pay the fine.
