A planning application has been submitted to Greenwich council for new homes in Falconwood.

The application proposes the demolition of existing residential buildings on Riefield Road introducing a new build between five to nine storeys with a total of 70 homes.

Two previous public consultations were held last year where 77 residents attended to share their views on the plans.

A project website was also set up which received 1,594 visits with 28 visitors completing feedback forms online.

The number of storeys was reduced from eleven to nine following the public feedback.

The development also proposes seven on-site blue badge parking bays for residents in need.

A total of 131 sheltered long-stay cycle parking spaces will also be provided within the new build.

The site is located near Eltham Cemetery and Crematorium.

The main entrance of the building will face Falconwood railway station.

The application was submitted by Meridian Home Start on December 15, 2021.

MHS was established by the Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) in 2016 with the purpose to deliver new affordable homes for rent for Greenwich residents who would not be prioritised for social rent homes and cannot afford to buy or rent in the private sector.
