A man has been arrested after a stolen moped was ridden and abandoned in St Mary Cray.
Police officers on patrol at around 2.25am on Wednesday were alerted to a moped that had been reported stolen being ridden in the vicinity of Derry Downs.
They engaged in a pursuit and the moped was abandoned in St Mary Cray High Street.
Police searched the area and a man was arrested on suspicion of theft and driving offences.
He remains in custody.
Police enquiries continue.
A Met Police spokesperson said: "At approximately 02:25hrs on Wednesday, 9 February officer on patrol were alerted to a moped that had been reported stolen being ridden in the vicinity of Derry Downs in St Mary Cray.
"A pursuit was initiated and the moped was abandoned in High Street, St Mary Cray.
"A search of the area resulted in one male being arrested on suspicion of theft and driving offences. Both remain in custody.
"Enquiries into the circumstances continue."
