A Lewisham man who allegedly entered a bank armed with a knife before threatening staff and stealing cash from a till has been charged.

Roy Sinclair, 43, of Otterden Street, was arrested on Sunday (February 6) and charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Police received a report that an armed man robbed a bank on Dartford High Street at around 3pm on Friday (February 4).

Officers carried out several enquiries, including a review of CCTV, leading to Sinclair’s arrest.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he was remanded to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on March 7.
