A woman has been fined more than £800 for leaving Lewisham while the country was in strict lockdown.
Seweryn Pisula was fined £826 for leaving her home in Waters Road, Catford and being outside Lodge Avenue in Barking on January 10, 2021 while London was under Tier 4 restrictions.
The restrictions saw people only allowed to leave home for essential purposes, such as to buy food and medical supplies, or for daily exercise.
The 24-year-old was away from her home “without reasonable excuse and other than as permitted by the regulations” in place at the time to control the spread of coronavirus.
She was found guilty in a single justice procedure hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on January 26, 2022.
Pisula was fined an initial £660 for the offence, an extra £66 to fund victim services and £100 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
She has until February 23 to pay the fine.
