Being one of the six stores in the UK, Angel Islington has been graced with the opening of AmazonFresh since December last year. AmazonFresh offers a “Just Walk Out Shopping” with no queues or checkouts, creating a unique, wondrous and fast experience for shoppers.

When entering the store you scan your QR code using the Amazon App, staff are also stationed in the store helping customers adjust to this new experience. From then on the experience is the same as going to a regular store, in which you can pick up goods and products from their variety  of departments. These include, its ambrosia bakery, toiletries, fruits and veg, meal deals, snacks, fresh meat and many more. AmazonFresh also provides hot drinks courtesy of the two coffee machines. Furthermore, towards the back of the store an AmazonHub is situated for customers to return and receive their parcels.

Feeling intrigued, I purchased several groceries from AmazonFresh as the prices seemed standard to other stores, like Tesco. The store was smaller than I expected but nonetheless there was still a variety of goods. After purchasing a few goods, I was able to leave the store straight away without any hassle by scanning my QR code. Few hours later, I was emailed with my receipt. I was charged correctly except for one extra brownie, which I had picked up but put back again. This was slightly disappointing, however, this was swiftly resolved by a refund.

Overall, the experience was novel and would recommend shoppers to try out by visiting 359 Upper Street, London, N1 0PD.
