Covid, Covid, Covid. This is pretty much what was a top priority/concern for people and even to an extent now. With periods of isolation, not being able to socialise and just do what you wanted to do and negative impacts on mental health made some people feel more vulnerable and neglected. As restrictions ease, the pandemic is coming closer to an endemic, it is vital to make sure that you see your future in a positive light. Make sure that you almost reinvent yourself and bring in that growth mindset.

How can this be achieved?

Step 1: Find out who you are and what you want to become

This is essentially finding out your dream career for example, what are you good at, what do you think could be improved and skills and general hobbies. This is essentially the base and it is this that allows you to visualise your ideal self.

Step 2: Make room

Essentially this is all about you dedicating the time to make things possible. Achieving goals just doesn’t come with the output, but freeing up time to invest in the energy to make it happen. Committing to putting in that effort will really bring more happiness in the long term.

Step 3: Note changes

A great way to monitor how closer or further away you are from achieving that aim and life is using a diary and daily apparitions are also a really good way to encourage you.

After these steps, it comes to the practical bit when you interact, socialise and make the impossible possible. Life comes with many hurdles and it is essentially from mistakes that we learn and change the way our brain perceives things. Now this may seem like a lot to do by yourself hence having a circle of friends that you know will stick up for you is really crucial. It’s not about being the popular one with a big circle as having a small and benevolent circle can really be useful for you.

Why is it important to reinvent yourself?

No matter how famous you are, even the most successful people have committed themselves to this change and proven that obstacles come and go, but opportunities don’t. Reinventing yourself not only has a positive impact on you psychologically but in terms of success is fundamental. Whatever skills we practically gain from life are skills that can’t be achieved by education. A great example of an influential individual is JK Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, who said, “I ...began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me.”
