THE breach of Tier 4 coronavirus lockdown restrictions has cost a woman more than £800 in court.

Tila-Neves Pereira was found guilty of participating in a private gathering consisting of two or more people in London Road in Croydon on January 23, 2021.

London was under Tier 4 restrictions at the time, which saw people only allowed to leave home for essential purposes, such as to buy food and medical supplies, or for daily exercise.

The 26-year-old, of Cuthbert Road in Croydon, was ordered to pay £826 for the offence - including a £660 fine, £66 to fund victim services and costs of £100.

This must be paid by February 16.

Pereira's verdict was proved in a Single Justice Procedure at Westminster Magistrates' Court on January 19.
