The winners of a postcode lottery are planning trips to Hong Kong and the Caribbean after wining £150,000.

Four neighbours living in HA7 1PQ (Stanmore) were announced the winners of the People’s Postcode Lottery, with three of them winning £30,000 and the fourth neighbour landing £60,000 playing with two tickets.

Tak-Kwong Liu, 47, was stunned after the £60,000 reveal and said he plans to take an overdue trip to Hong Kong to see his family.

He said: “I’m all about my family, as long as they’re happy, I’m happy. I’m not materialistic so nothing really for me, just for them.”

The dad-of-two has lived on the street for over 20 years and signed up to the lottery online and ended up buying two tickets.

Karen Brock, 47, was another lucky winner and says the news has come at the right time after a difficult few years from the pandemic.

She said: “I was made redundant twice during the pandemic and it’s just a great feeling to know we’ll be able to spoil ourselves as it’s been tough.”

The grandmother plans to treat her six-year-old granddaughter to a trip to Disneyland Paris and says that she also plans to book herself a sunny holiday as she hasn’t been anywhere in four years and “desperately” needs a tan.

Her next door neighbour, Tudor Davies, also picked up £30,000 and said he plans to go back to the Caribbean to visit some friends and family.

He said: “My wife passed away from cancer ten years ago and I haven’t visited her sister in a long time.

“I’ll hopefully fly first class now.”

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson presented the winners with their prize cheques and shared his congratulations, he said: “I’m so pleased for our winners in Stanmore, what an amazing surprise!

“It was great to meet Tak, Karen and Tudor and hear about how they’ll be spending their winnings! I’m sure they’ll enjoy spoiling themselves and their loved ones this year.”

People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day. People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.
