Brindisa have opened in Richmond - their sixth restaurant and their first venture outside central London.

With a huge terrace overlooking the river, the restaurant is right in the centre of Richmond. Inside there are individual booths, a conservatory area and an open kitchen so diners can see all the action.  The room is bright and colourful, with vibrant Spanish tiles along the bar and open kitchen.

The pan con tomate is just like in Barcelona, the padrón peppers are hot and sizzling and the Jamón Ibérico is marbled and delicious. Their Huevos Rotos (potatoes, broken eggs and sobrasada) are worth ordering two of and the Monte Enebro goat’s cheese is outstanding.   If tapas aren’t enough, go for the sharing Txuleta Rubia Gallega, sirloin steak, which arrives sliced on a hot plate, pink, chargrilled and accompanied by scorched vine tomatoes, (more!) padrón peppers and tasty chimichurri.  Even broccoli is made interesting, flame cooked with golden raisins, pine nuts and chilli oil.  On Sundays there is also a Spanish style roast, which sounds fantastic and Brindisa themselves boldly tweeted, “..we think our Richmond restaurant does the best Sunday roast along the Thames”.

One local resident told me “I love the Borough Brindisa and the South Kensington one, and so I’m delighted we now we have our own one here!”  Started by Monika Linton in 1988, Brindisa now have six restaurants, two shops, an online food emporium and are a wholesale supplier to many restaurants and delis. Brindisa co-founder, Ratnesh Bagdai, said, “I am very excited to operate in Richmond and to offer the neighbourhood an all-day, any-day premium casual offer to capture the essence of what the industry is all about....enjoyment and socialising whenever and how often you like.”
