SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Friday night's 2-1 win against King's Lynn Town.

We’re totally unrecognisable from the team that played back in August. Huge credit to Maher, Currie and everyone behind the scenes who has worked so hard to turn our fortunes around. Questionable pen call, but who cares?! Ultimately, a well earned win. Three in a row, how long since we’ve said that?!

@DanMcSUFC

That was the very least we deserved. Excellent performance at both ends of the pitch, limiting them to few clear chances whilst creating our own. Very unfortunate to go behind. All three debutants impressive and there’s starting to be a real buzz around the club again.

@JoePayne_

Over the 90 mins we deserved the win but it was never a penalty. Good to finally get some luck though and great for morale to get a third straight win. All the new players played well and a great atmosphere under the lights.

@Strutty27

It shows how things have changed- at no point whilst one down was I worried. This team has the unity, drive, fight and now quality to be able to turn these games around. The job that Kev, Currie and Benno have done is nothing short of amazing. Hard not to feel positive right now!

@samgoody23

In terms of the result, we got away with it as that was never a penalty. But more importantly the atmosphere round the club feels positive again for the first time in years. And a 90th minute winner under the lights in front of 6,000 plus can only help that.

@Moorhouse79

Players playing with confidence and freedom, two new signings already starting to make an impact, and 6,000+ fans roaring on the team from the stands to bring home three well deserved points. This has been a very good week for Southend United, and long may the positivity continue!

@OfficialTBV

A great performance and really should’ve finished them off in the first half! I’m still getting used to not getting annihilated 4-0 every week as the Maher and co have turned it around quicker than I ever imagined. Now we start looking up the table and what will be will be.

@Ljarvis27

Mention must go to Will Atkinson best player on the park this evening but also good effort from all players on both sides this match was a great advert for this level of football.

@phillsilver9

Deserved the win despite it coming from a penalty that shouldn't have been given. It feels good to watch Southend again, dare I say it but it looks like the losing mentality of the last few years has finally gone.

@Pete_Chatterton

Well earned win, by far the better team. Will Atkinson had a good game , my man of the match. Cardwell looked sharp, as did Matt Dennis. After the last few years it's great to go home with a smile on me face.

Proper Shrimpers performance, could have had three or four in the first half. Terrific Atmosphere. Feels like we really have turned a corner after four horrific years.

@MaxwellWatson79

What a difference since Maher was appointed and the transfer embargo was lifted. Unlucky not to score three or four in the first half but then very lucky to get the pen at the end to get the three points, albeit overall we did deserve them. Fantastic support yet again & wow three wins in a row!

@tommyharris57

I don’t care who the opposition was. I don’t care where they are in the league. We have won three on the bounce. We came back from 1-0 down at half time to take a deserved 2-1 win. This reaction to going down shows far more progress that beating higher up teams such as Yeovil.

@jmayhew32

Thank God there's no VAR in the National League!
