A man was fined more than £600 for attending a gathering in Bexley while the country was in strict lockdown.
Ashley McCrossen, 37, of Joydens Wood Road, “participated in a gathering” at a private address on John Newton Court, where two or more people were in attendance “without reasonable excuse”, on January 8, 2021.
London was in Tier 4 at the time, which saw people only allowed to leave home for essential purposes, such as to buy food and medical supplies, or for daily exercise.
Mr McCrossen was found guilty at Central London Magistrates' Court on December 15, 2021.
He was fined at initial £500 for the offence, an extra £50 to fund victim services and £101 for the costs of the Crown Prosecution Service.
Mr McCrossen was given until January 12 to pay the fine.
