With the date of the 28th of January closing in, many Pokémon fans are hyped more than ever for the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. I believe it will be a huge hit, due to the fact it’s being set in ancient Sinnoh (which is the first time a Pokémon game will be set into the past rather than the present) however, with the news that the game will not be open world (Spieltimes, 2021), some fans have been put off. So far, we know that there are 5 new regional forms of already existing Pokémon, of which being: Hisuian Growlithe, Hisuian Zorark, Hisuian Zorua, Hisuian Braviary and Hisuian Voltorb. On top of that, some Pokemon have been given regional evolutions (regional evolutions were first seen in previous games, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon) of which being: Kleavor (evolution of Scyther), Wyrdeer (evolution of Stantler) and Basculegion (evolution of Basculin) (Nintendo, 2021). Personally, I think the game will exceed my expectations as the quality of these new Pokémon are amazing and their lore even more so (poor Basculegion). Like other fans, I am also intrigued of the fact the player can now be attacked by wild Pokémon. I can finally have that one-on-one battle with Snorlax that I’ve always wanted. Despite all of this, there are some fans that think the game has been rushed or the graphics aren’t the best, but I guess all of these questions, complaints and curiosities will be answered in 19 days from now.
