As we reflect on a very busy year, during which we have introduced new services (in addition to our non judgemental no referral no assessment core emergency food support) of free NHS health checks and free Memory Cafe, free school supplies and Santa with presents, we are very grateful to the local communities up and down Epping Forest District for embracing our ethos and new way of supporting vulnerable people.

Treating and supporting people humanely with dignity and respect, at the heart of what we do is trust. We trust people and we give them back their self respect. We've had so much generous support from the community, who have empathised and support what we're doing. Community supporting community. Stepping up to ensure we can deliver our vital service by donating and fundraising for us.

Just last week we had huge donations from Loughton Health Centre, Chigwell Row Infants School, West Hatch High School and Graham Nygate of Gants Hill Chabad lubavitch and many more individuals. It really is so emotional and overwhelming the support and trust we have been given too.

In addition to supporting vulnerable people our mission is to help save the environment. One third of food around the world is wasted. In the UK alone, we waste approximately 7 million tonnes of edible food every year. At the same time, millions of people, including over half a million children in London and Essex, go hungry. That’s why our mission and service is so important: our amazing tireless volunteers, help us rescue, sort & distribute good, nutritious food – helping feed those in need & reducing waste at the same time.

A reminder that Santa will be visiting us from the North Pole all this week at our hubs giving out presents. If you know a family that need some presents, ask them to attend that week or nominate them by emailing us.
