In our world, many hate crimes are being committed over and over again. But just recently, racism has increased;but thanks to self-aware people, our environment has been impacted by a movement called ‘Black Lives Matter’. This movement helps bring awareness to peoples lives and teach them how to be better people towards others religion, background and colour.
Racism comes in many ways and formats. Racism can be committed by anyone who can't control themselves or show respect. These sort of crimes could be called ‘Hate crimes’, which means where a person commits assault/harassment towards a property or person due to the reason of colour, religion or background.

This could be shown, either directly or indirectly, by your friends, families and even strangers.

A famous football player, Bukayo Saka, had recently faced racist comments at a big football tournament which held Italy and England supporters. Both fan bases made racist jokes towards the black players when they had missed a shot at the goal. This enraged many beyond belief because acts like this are unforgivable and needs to be pulled to a halt. Support from the other team members/managers have been addressing this situation on social media which brings up more awareness to surface.

Because racism comes in all shapes and sizes, another incident occurred where even police, who are under governmental  protection and governmental supervision, have also committed hate crimes. A black man named George Floyd, had been brutally murdered by awhite american policeman, Derek Chauvin, falsely accused of doing a hate crime. He was just simply walking down the pavement in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when a policeman pushed him to a halt and forced him on the ground with no consent. One police officer pushed his knee harshly against George Floyds throat making it impossible for him to breath. He had reportedly been repeating “I cant breath” as the police officer continued to ignore his cries and pleas of help.

Racism is truly horrifying and a despicable act of hate crime against anyone and everyone. Turning a blind eye to this crime does not bring justice alight; instead speak up about the issue, even if it bothers you or anyone else.
