Covid-19 has been an ongoing global issue and has struck us with the feeling of fear and anxiety for quite a while now. It has killed over 5.1 million people worldwide and has contracted over 215 million cases. These numbers will not stop increasing, however, we have been given many precautions. Lockdowns, wearing face masks, and many more. At one point everything seemed like it was changing for the better, people were able to go out in groups again, the rules for wearing face masks were put at ease and people were being vaccinated to be protected from the virus. Unfortunately, this has not lasted very long as seen recently.

With the new covid variant that has been discovered, many people have been left concerned and a new form of tension has risen within everyone. A lot has yet to be discovered about this new variant and there are still many questions yet to be answered. It has been made mandatory to wear a face mask in any sort of communal area and there are at least 35 thousand cases every day and hundreds of deaths every day.

Covid-19 had also interfered with the GCSEs of the 2020 and 2021 year 11's and it seems it may do the same once again by the looks of the current state, although, this is not confirmed and there is still hope that everything will go smoothly and the GCSEs for 2022 will still happen. One thing to keep in mind is to follow the guidelines set by the government, maintain a healthy standard of personal hygiene, regularly test for covid, keep a safe distance from others, and most importantly, wear a face mask.
