As we well know, Covid has made life different and often more difficult, for the past two years. As a student currently studying for my GCSE's I find that Covid has affected my education and the way in which I learn drastically.

I for one am very fortunate to have gone to a school where live lessons were compulsory every day. This kept me engaged and with some form of human interaction with people other than my family. However, for many of my friends, this was not the case. Many of them reported that they felt unmotivated and sometimes unable to complete the work they had been set. Due to a lack of face-to-face contact usually typical of a classroom setting.

I have also found that many young people, myself included, have lost confidence in their academic abilities. You really do not notice the impact of face-to-face feedback and being able to ask for help without the deafening silence of a  zoom call has until you no longer have it. This has to have been the hardest part of lockdowns for me as I am still just grasping concepts that were first taught to me two years ago.

Having to adjust quickly to an entirely different way of living in an extremely short space of time was difficult for everyone. For students though we are all feeling the effects of missing out on two years of in-person school currently.

With threats of a fourth lockdown this winter, students are left to question how greatly will this affect their education moving forwards?
