Annually The Royal botanic Gardens Kew host an extraordinary light show; it really is a magical journey into a Christmas wonderland. After dark the illuminated trail through the famous Gardens is opened and leads you through a spectacular and sensational journey of lights.

The route is approximately 2.6 km long and as an average should take around 75 minutes from start to finish to walk the trail excluding time for food stops at the various available locations. Personally I think the food is worth stopping for. Every year without fail they include a marshmallow pit with a brightly light fire to roast your creatively flavoured marshmallows on. They also offer the most scrumptious roasted nuts and hot beverages all these are speckled throughout the path so no worries you have time to try everything and I recommend you do.

One if the main attractions around Kew lights is the tunnel of a fascinating lights creating an illuminated walk way to admire. It is a great place to take photos with family friends or just to take in the sights. The lights highlight the beauty of Kew Gardens in the evening and in the Christmas darkness it makes it such a special experience.

My favourite part of kew lights every year has to be the lake without a doubt the projected Christmas wishes and messages while shooting delicate and elegant patterns of water up from the fountains combined with the Christmas music playing in the background there really is nothing like it. By enhancing the beauty of Kew Gardens they draw many visitors every year attracting over 2.5 million visits -now if that doesn’t support how beautiful it really is I don’t know what does.

Occasionally with a little bit of luck Kew Gardens often often a limited edition experience such as botanical illusions or the Northern Lights with aurora. However, the most outstanding special edition feature must be the banana boat around the pond. A few years back Kew Gardens created a 3-D interactive element to the walk which was just fascinating and enhanced the experience for me.

Sharing special memories like these with your family or friends can build such special bonds and makes you feel connected through your Christmas spirit illuminated by the Kew Gardens lights. Christmas is a time of year to share things with your family and to be grateful for the memories you have, so why not build some new ones?

Although to make sure you are not caught out you must buy tickets well ahead as they are usually sold out months ahead!
