A handbag robber pushed a 93-year-old woman to the floor during a terrifying ordeal in Clapham.

At around 9am on Sunday, August 15, the woman was on Dunston Road when she was robbed by the unknown male.

He stole her handbag with such force that she fell to the floor and sustained a number of injuries.

This included a fractured pelvis and deep cut to the back of her head.

Police and ambulance crews provided first aid and took her to hospital for treatment - where she remained for two weeks.

PC Troy Sampson, the officer in the case, said: “This was a traumatic incident for the victim.

"We have pursued all leads but no arrests have been made.

"We are asking any witnesses, or anyone with information that could assist us to call 101 in relation to report CRIS 0317558/21."

Wandsworth Police tweeted: "#APPEAL | Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery.

"On Sun 15th Aug at approx 09:00, a 93 y/o woman was on Dunston Road, SW11, when she was robbed by an unknown male.

"The male stole her handbag with such force that it caused her to fall to the floor.

"She sustained a number of injuries, including a fractured pelvis & a deep laceration to the back of her head.

"Police & ambulance attended and provided first aid and transported to hospital for treatment.

"She remained in hospital for two weeks & an investigation was launched."
