THE number of Covid jabs in Bromley for the age group 12-15 is the highest within South East London.

38.2 per cent of the group have received their first dose, according to Government coronavirus data.

However, children may still have to wait up to five months to receive their first dose, according to new analysis by Labour.

The research suggests that 60 percent of the group are yet to be vaccinated.

It shows delays to the vaccination roll out would mean some 12–15-year-olds may not get their jab until February 2022, or a five month wait for some.

According to Labour’s analysis, over a four-week period up to November 15, an average of 147,000 pupils got the jab each week in England.

Vaccination services are visiting schools within the boroughs to offer every child the jab.

The South East London, Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “If a child is unwell or missed their vaccination on the day of the visit for whatever reason, there are a range of alternative options to choose from.

“These services offer walk-in appointments for any 12–15-year-old from the south east London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.”

The age group was targeted to receive their first as of early October.

How many children aged between 12-15 received their first dose?

Bexley: 27.6 per cent

Bromley: 38.2 per cent

Lewisham: 26.1 percent

Southwark: 27.3 per cent

Dartford: 31.5 per cent

Over one million children aged 12 to 15 (42.1 per cent) have been vaccinated in the UK.
