Trans awareness week takes place every year from the 13th to the 19th of November.

It is a time when transgender people and gender identities who fall under the trans umbrella draw attention to the community in order to educate and inform the general public about being transgender, non-binary, agender etc.

It is critical to educate yourself and others about trans issues and to act as an ally to the trans community in order to make the world a safer and more equal place for trans people. You can accomplish this in a number of ways, including:

  1. introduce yourself using the pronouns that you prefer to use

2. Learn about transgender people's lives and the transgender community as a whole.
3. Be accepting and respectful of people of all gender identities.

It's worth noting that approximately one percent of the population in the United Kingdom identifies as transgender, and a research done in 2020 found that four out of every five trans people had been the victim of a hate crime. When it comes to reducing transphobia, it is always crucial to educate oneself as well as others, and I hope that this article inspires more people to do so.
