Police have charged a man with murder after a 32-year-old was fatally shot in south London.

Gary Mayhew, from the Camberwell area, died on the afternoon of Thursday, October 21, from a gunshot to the leg, after he was admitted to hospital that morning.

Trevin Campbell, 31, of Kingswood Avenue, Thornton Heath, will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on today, October 27, charged with murder.

He was arrested by officers on Monday, October 25.

The shooting is thought to have taken place on Belinda Road, Brixton, at around 6am, October 21.

Two other men arrested as part of this investigation, aged 27 and 37, have been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in late November.
