I recently attended the Van Gogh immersive experience in London and it not only enlightened my contextual knowledge on the infamous sunflowers constructor but it's immaculate and sheerly beautiful presentation was effortless and captivating.

I must admit that even being an avid art admirer and creator myself plus studying Gogh at GSCE, it's seems I only scratched the surface of the truly provoking but also stimulating life that he led. With striking facts such as his struggle with his mental health and how he turned this pain into his stellar work alongside many more being mentioned throughout the exhibition however I won't go into too much detail as exploring this experience personally is a must!

The self tour begins with a vast introduction into all of his personal achievements over the years, with detailed information explaining the creation of each of the paintings displayed. Not only is the preface of the experience inviting but the way it is displayed is in such a fashion with extreme highlight towards the artwork itself and muted backgrounds immediately bringing your attention to the main pieces. This alongside an eye-opening short movie which lays out this information virtually and many more interactive features makes this experience so special.

After you have fully immersed yourself into the beginning wonders it has to offer there are multiple routes to follow. A fun and relaxing colouring task that allows you to display your version of his masterpieces virtually. The most prominent part of it all, a delicately constructed group virtual experience that paints through images the great artistic moments of his life, with the added relaxation tool of starry night deckchairs to really make you feel as if you have become one with the artwork. Finally, the extreme bargain of a £5 virtual reality experience where you walk through a tour of the stages of his life and the multiple creations that shaped them.

I hope that I have managed to give you an insight to the truly remarkable experience you gain from attending this event but most significantly a more enlightened knowledge on who Gogh really was. Plus a memoir from the array on offer at the gift shop...
