The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain across London.
The warning is in place from 4pm today (Wednesday) to 3am on Thursday.
It said the wet and windy weather is likely to bring disruption to parts of southern England this evening and overnight.
According to the Met Office, the flooding of homes and businesses is likely, as is interruption to power supplies.
The rain is set to fall heavily mixed with sunny spells throughout the afternoon.
It is then forecast to stay dry from around 3pm until 9pm, when the heavy rain will begin again.
This will continue throughout the night until around 3am, according to the Met Office forecast.

Wednesday: A mainly cloudy start with limited brighter spells, as early rain in the east clears away. Showers pushing eastwards through the morning, some of these heavy, with a risk of hail, thunder and gusty winds. Showers becoming more isolated later. Maximum temperature 18 °C.
Wednesday night: Isolated showers at first, then persistent and occasionally heavy rain moving east and clearing. Further rain then moving south into the region through the early hours. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Thursday: Early rain clearing, then colder and breezier but with bright or sunny spells. Scattered showers most likely towards the east, with coastal gales developing. Maximum temperature 12 °C
