- Motorists have continued to queue at Epping and Harlow petrol stations for a fifth day this week as fears over fuel shortages continue.
- Across the county, there are huge queues for petrol stations as motorists try to fill up despite repeated warnings there is no need to panic buy- stressing there is enough petrol.
- George Eustice, Environment Secretary, said there was not a shortage of fuel and called on motorists to stop “panic buying” petrol and return to their normal pattern of purchasing.
- A joint statement among major fuel suppliers reads: “There is plenty of fuel at UK refineries and terminals, and as an industry we are working closely with the government to help ensure fuel is available to be delivered to stations across the country.
