Thames Valley Police has confirmed the identity of the victim in an ongoing murder investigation in Reading.

The body of Duane Denny, 46, was discovered in Erith on Wednesday, September 15.

Duane was reported missing to Thames Valley Police on August 24, and a missing person investigation was launched.

Duane’s next of kin are being supported by specially trained Family Liaison Officers.

A 47-year-old man from Reading, who was arrested on September 16 on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "Thames Valley Police can now confirm the identity of the victim in the ongoing murder investigation in Reading.

"The body of a man was discovered in Erith, London, on Wednesday (15/9).

"The man has today (17/9) been formally identified as Duane Denny, aged 46.

"Duane was reported missing to Thames Valley Police on 24 August, and a missing person investigation was launched.

"Duane’s next of kin are being supported by specially trained Family Liaison Officers.

"A 47-year-old man from Reading, who was arrested last night (16/9) on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody."
