A lawn bowling competition was held at Epping Bowls Club to help raise money for Air Ambulance week.

Epping Bowls Club held their annual fundraising event for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance on Lower Bury Lane on Saturday (11 September).

Members of the club competed against each other throughout the evening, where players had specific targets to land on in order to win points.

The charity event raised a total of £464 for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and was sponsored by Millers Estate Agents based in Epping.

Top of the points was Men’s Captain Ron Perryman with 85, edging out new member Kit Birdsey on 83.

Chris Whitbread who took part in the game said “Helping good causes and the local community makes this a great partnership and we enjoyed taking part.

“It’s good to see people getting together and enjoying themselves after such an austere time.”

Edward Panter, who organises the event every year said: “Over the years the club has raised significant funds for this very worthwhile and life- saving charity.

“I am delighted as this is a record amount thanks to the generous support by Millers Estate Agents.”
