A black-owned Hair Salon and shop has opened its doors in Chingford.
It was launched by Bradlyn Parry, the man behind Jerk Spice a popular Caribbean store in Chingford Mount.
He now takes a new adventure opening JS Hair and Beauty. Mr Parry was due to open its doors in April 2020. However, the opening was delayed due to ongoing Covid restrictions.
After a delayed opening due to pandemic restrictions, they enjoyed their launch party and were joined by Waltham Forest Mayor Cllr Elizabeth Baptiste and teenage Author Derrick D Shortage JR.
The new shop in Church Road celebrated it’s long awaited opening on 4 September. They held a party and enjoyed entertainment, free-flowing fizz, food from Mel’s Vegan Kitchen, a book signing by Mr Shortridge Jr.
After the launch party, Mr Parry said: “What a fantastic afternoon! It was lovely to see everyone out and about again after so long.
“I enjoyed meeting the mayor and chatting to residents and introducing them to JS Hair and Beauty which offers east Londoner’s access to exceptional hairstyling – from cornrows to extensions, braids and weaves – together with “must-have” products from sustainable brands such as Shea Moisture, all under one roof.
“I am proud of everyone who helped put together the event and all the attendees who made the day very special."
