Motorists are set to be prevented from stopping on a road outside a Harlow school for the majority of weekday daytime hours.

A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian has detailed plans to introduce the red route restrictions in Barley Croft, outside Longwood School.

Under the proposals, vehicles will be prevented from stopping on the road from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

The notice does not state when the restrictions are due to take effect.

Meanwhile, roads in Roydon, North Weald Bassett and Epping Upland are due to be temporarily closed for roadworks.

A section of Hamlet Hill, Roydon, is scheduled to be closed on Sunday for works.

The road will be shut from the junction with Barn Hill for a distance of approximately 95m in a north-easterly direction.

The alternative route will be via Hamlet Hill, Tylers Road, Epping Road Roundabout, Epping Road, Common Road, Nazeing Common, Middle Street, North Street, Pecks Hill, Sage Green, Hamlet Hill and vice versa.

A phased closure of Foster Street, North Weald Bassett, is due to start on Monday and will last for almost a month in total.

These lengths of the road due to be closed at the following times:

From the junction with Green Lane for a distance of approximately 205m in a south-westerly direction – closed from September 13 to September 17.

From a point approximately 205m south-west of the junction with Green Lane for a distance of approximately 205m in a south-westerly direction – from September 20 to September 24.

From a point approximately 100m north-west of the junction with Greenways for a distance of approximately 115m in a north-westerly direction – from September 27 to October 10.

During the first phase of the closure the diversion will be via Green Lane, Hobbs Cross Road and vice versa.

For parts two and three, it will be via Green Lane, Threshers Bush, Tilegate Road, Hastingwood Road, Mill Street and vice versa.

Epping Road, Epping Upland, is set to be closed from a point approximately 135m north-west of its junction with Elm Close for a distance of approximately 60m in a north-westerly direction for two days from September 25.

The alternative route will be via Epping Road Roundabout, Epping Road, Water Lane, Southern Way, A414 between southern town boundary and Harlow Mill Roundabout, London Road, Hastingwood Roundabout, High Road, Thornwood Road, Palmers Hill, Lindsey Street, Church Hill and vice versa.
