Amazon Logistics has announced that it will open a new delivery station in Orpington – expected to be fully operational in the autumn.

The 9,000 square metre building in Cray Avenue will serve customers based in the Orpington area and aims to enhance delivery and seller services.

It will create 30 permanent jobs in addition to more than a hundred driver opportunities for Amazon Logistics’ delivery service partners and Amazon Flex delivery partners.

Amazon is also offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to build their own business delivering Amazon packages – as well as independent contractors the flexibility to be their own boss and create their own schedule delivering.

Kerry-Anne Lawlor, Country Director for Amazon Logistics, said: “We are excited to invest in the Orpington area with a new delivery station that will provide efficient delivery for customers, and create new jobs for the talented workforce.”

Amazon is holding a free virtual training and recruiting event on September 16 and job seekers are able to register at amazoncareerday.com.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in one of the 3,000 free one-to-one career coaching sessions with Amazon recruiters to help participants land their next job.
