Merton Police are cracking down on gangs in the area.
Last night (Thursday), a section 60 was authorised from 7pm to 7am today (Friday).
Inspector Croucher authorised the stop and search order for the entirety of Merton.
This is as a result of information received by police about "increased gang tensions".
A Section 60 is used by police to help them carry out stop and search, a tactic which helps remove weapons from the streets and ultimately save lives.
