PLANS have been drawn up for a huge development with more than 700 homes, a number of traveller pitches and a community centre.

Manor Oak Homes is working with Epping Forest District Council, Essex County Council and other stakeholders on the proposed Parklands development on land north of Parklands, Waltham Abbey.

The developer is holding a consultation which closes today (Thursday, August 26) at 5pm.

Its website says: “In collaboration with Epping Forest District Council planning officers, we will review all the consultation responses received from residents, stakeholders and a Quality Review Panel.

“We will then make amendments to the masterplan seeking to respond to issues, concerns and opportunities raised through the consultation exercise.

“We will then start a second round of public consultation to seek your views on the second draft strategic masterplan.

“We will then review the second set of consultation responses, make a final set of amendments to the masterplan, and then submit the strategic masterplan to Epping Forest District for approval.”

The initial plans and consultation includes 740 homes, five pitches for travellers, a new community centre, which is likely to include a food shop, other shops and community activity space.
