Police investigating an arson attack on the TikTok famous Smithy Family’s Welling home have released an images of a car they have linked to the incident.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on South Gypsy Road at around 11pm on Wednesday, July 14, which destroyed large parts of the property.

A Fiat Punto, believed to be a Grande mode, with a light blue and a noticeable dent in the front right wheel arch, has been linked to the incident.

The car is believed to be in the south east London area, in Welling, Bexleyheath, Dartford or Greenwich.

Detective Sergeant Danny Banks, from the Serious and Complex Investigations Unit, said: “A team of officers have been diligently to establish the circumstances of this incident. I thank everyone who has already come forward to police.

"We are now focusing our investigation on the car pictured and wish to identify it as soon as possible.

“If you recognise it, please come forwards and speak to us.

“No piece of information is too small and could significantly help us in our investigation to establish who is responsible for this attack."

Police are yet to make any arrests in relation to the fire, which is being treated as arson.

Nick Smith said his wife and children aged six, eight and six weeks, could have been killed in the attack.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

Doorbell footage captured two men opening the door of the family's Ford Mondeo on the driveway, pouring in a flammable liquid and setting it alight.

The family fled the property, to which they have been unable to return given the scale of damage.
