Debden Park High School has again produced outstanding GCSE results with 72 per cent of students achieving a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, and 50 per cent of students achieving a Grade 5 or above in both English and Maths.

A total of 50 per cent of grades in science were at a grade 5 or above.

A quarter of all grades in English or Maths were at grade 7 or above.

Almost a third of all grades across all subjects were awarded at Grade 7 or above.

In total, across all subjects 87 entries were awarded the highest possible grade 9.

Head of School Helen Gascoyne said: "Our teachers have worked incredibly hard to ensure that no student loses out as a result of the pandemic.

"We are thrilled that our consistent focus on learning throughout the school has proved yet again to enable students to achieve such impressive results despite the challenges we have all faced over the last 18 months.

"Our students have gone above and beyond in their work and have demonstrated such outstanding resilience and drive to achieve that we are incredibly proud of them.”

A record number of students have applied for the Sixth Form at Debden Park following their fantastic results at GCSE.

A third of the 2021 A-Level cohort have been accepted onto courses at Russell Group Universities or other top 20 universities including three students heading to Oxbridge.

Some Debden Park High students with particularly impressive results are: * Hollie Hutchinson who achieved 7 Grade 9s, in English Literature, Maths, Combined Science (x2), History, Drama and Dance, and Grade 8s in English Language and Spanish * Jack Hillyer achieved 6 Grade 9s, in Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Drama, and Grade 8s in English and Spanish * Daniel McLaughlin achieved 7 Grade 9s, in Maths, English Language, English Literature, Combined Science (x2), Computer Science and Resistant Materials, one grade 8 and one grade 7.

* Natalie Cockram achieved 5 Grade 9s, in Maths, Music, Biology, Chemistry, Dance, and three grade 8s and a grade 7.
