There are long delays on the A282 Queen Elizabeth II Bridge at Dartford Crossing after a car fire.

Highways South East said "severe delays" of 120 minutes were continuing to build clockwise and that there is eight miles of congestion back through to junction 29.

They added that this was due to a blocked carriageaway to allow crews to treat the road service.

Lanes three and four on the A282 Dartford Bridge have been released past the scene now - but Highways South East has said that the tunnels "may have to close intermittently".

The vehicle fire was first reported at around 3.45pm when emergency services were on the way to the scene.

Highways England then gave an update that the fire brigade had the fire under control - but that there "may be damage to the road service".

Highways England also said at the time that it was working to get traffic moving as soon as possible.

There is currently congestion to halfway before J28 (Brentwood), with further delays along the A13 between Rainham and Orsett heading towards the bridge.
