A TWO-DAY flower festival held in a church has been hailed a major success.
Cllr Jaymey McIvor, Conservative county councillor for Ongar and Rural County, has congratulated everyone involved in the flower festival at St Mary’s Church, Stapleford Abbotts.
The festival featured a display of flower arrangements as well as a plant sale, games, quizzes and refreshments.
Mr McIvor, who is also a Tory councillor for North Weald Bassett, said: “It was great to see our rural communities like Stapleford Abbotts bouncing back from the pandemic and starting to get back to some normality.
“The rain didn’t stop the local community from turning out to support the great event. I even met people who drove from more than an hour away to attend the event.
“Congratulations to everyone involved with the festival and for bringing people together.”
