Two people have been arrested in a police operation at Erith and Slade Green rail stations.

Met Police teams carried out stop and searches at the two south east London stations on Wednesday, July 28.

Bexley Met Police Service said there were numerous positive stop and searches, whilst two people were taken into custody.

One person was arrested for the possession of a lock knife, and a second person was arrested for possession of a Class A drug.

Operation Avara has been executed regularly in south east London and north Kent for two years now, with Met Police teaming up with British Transport Police and train operators.

Officers set up stop and searches, police dogs, weapon arches and more in a bid to target crime on London's transport networks.
