A brand new Lidl is set to open in Croydon on Purley Way next month.

Occupying 1,275m² of sales area as well as feature facilities including an in-store bakery, customer toilets and parking, the Purley Way Lidl will be donating surplus produce and customer donations to local charities.

The new store, which opens August 5, will become the fourth Lidl in the borough, and will create around 40 jobs for the local community.

The move is part of the giant's ongoing £1.3bn expansion and regeneration plans across the UK for 2021 and 2022.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Henry Neel, commented: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Purley Way.

"It is fantastic that we are able to continue our investment in Croydon, delivering our fourth store to the area and enabling even more of the local community access to our multi-award winning products.

"We are delighted to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area and look forward to welcoming everyone to our new store.”

The store opening times will be between 7am - 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am – 5pm on Sunday, 'delivering Lidl’s offering of fresh, quality and great value produce'.

During the first week of opening customers will be able to find exclusive deals and offers on selected products including a Tri Scooter with LED wheels (£8.99) on Thursday 5th August, a Foot Spa Medisana (£9.99) on Friday 6th August and a Record Player Dual (£44.99) on Saturday 7th August.
