SCHOOL children got the opportunity to find out how it feels to live like Vikings as their classroom studies came to life.
The Year 4 pupils at Roydon Primary Academy, in Roydon, have been studying Vikings in their topic work and How to Train Your Dragon in English.
As part of the children’s education, learning and curriculum, they investigated what the early Viking society was like, what Vikings were good at and how they told stories.
The subject came to life even more when the school pupils had the chance to dressed up for the day, they also had fun creating Viking jewellery and writing messages in runes.
The youngsters also tried out some role play.
Head of school Anna Myatt said the children had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the fun and event.
She said: “The children have been studying the Vikings which is an exciting and interesting topic.
“They got to know who the Vikings were, when and where they lived, and what was important to them.
“Norse mythology is an important part of the lives of the early Vikings, so the children were also introduced to some Norse gods and stories.”
