Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a range of industrial units on Armstrong Road in Woolwich yesterday.
Part of an end-of-range, two-storey industrial unit was damaged by fire.
There were no reports of any injuries.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “There was no one inside the property at the time of the fire.
“Smoke was seen coming from stacked metal cages directly outside the unit containing waste paper and card and the Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 13 calls to the blaze.”
The Brigade was called at 2.45am and the fire was under control by 5.28am.
Fire crews from Plumstead, East Greenwich, Erith and Poplar fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
